I want to start the day off by thank Francois of Domaining.com once again. I have had some great success this year and this blog is successful for a few reasons. Travis and Josh are the main reasons. I might be the face but those guys are the studs. My hard work is number two, our advertiser’s support is number three, and Francois and Domaining.com is right there with all of them. Francois gave us our first chance and sent us traffic. For the last 10 years has been a big fan of the site. To the point of protecting it from the people that want to try and do things that would take away from what we do. Without going into details, there are some people in this industry that appear one way but will throw you under the bus if it means they can make an extra buck. Francois has put his neck out for DSAD and we will forever be grateful. I realize his English suffers at times and comes across as harsh, but I truly feel he understands the relationship between content and traffic. He is our partner. The same people that brag about most of their traffic coming from outside of Domaining.com would be the first people to complain if they got shut off. I go to Domaining.com every day. People that do the same, come here. We’ve become consistent enough each day that many just come straight here. But many come through Domaining.com. The biggest problem for Domaining.com is there is so much less good content to aggregate that the site is barren. Good content takes time and ain’t nobody got time anymore. Now on to the “What did Shane bid on yesterday”
Congratulations, you have won “MoneyGlove” for $12. That was my big purchase yesterday. And it wasn’t for lack of trying. I’ll take that type of name for $12 all day. Its short, easy to spell, and eventually someone will want to pay more than $12. It will cost me 80% a year in renewals to find out.
Here were the other names I bid on yesterday and lost
CustomLawnCare.net Like I said in the list. I know I can resell this for a profit if I can buy it at $12. So that’s what I bid. Wasn’t as confident at $22 🙂
Vogic.com I really liked this one. I put a bid at $275 and really thought that would take it. Went for $290 and in hindsight I would have paid $300 but who knows if the winner would have kept going or not.
DigitalHash.com I liked this one a little bit. I put a bid in at $88 and said if it goes it goes, but I won’t bid a dollar more. I didn’t and it went for a dollar more. Actually $5
Of course I bid at Namejet as well so I will start including those names as well. And yes I bid on bigger names too but we just started this whole “post what you’re doing ” thing so we’ll get into the bigger names as we go. I’ll also start talking about the landers I’m using and what has been working and not working. Remember, this is just what I’m doing. I am not telling anyone that its right or wrong. Only documenting my journey. Take it for what it’s worth. Eventually after I’ve had success I will then start telling you how stupid you are. Give it time. I also promise to eventually start writing about how I hate the lowball bidders on my names. I just want to make sure you guys get everything you need and deserve on this daily list.

Have a name at auction and need more exposure? Send me an email. We Charge $10 per name per day. We may be able to help. If you have an auction you want to promote, email us for details.*All names chosen by us, Shane and Josh . (ie you click through and purchase a name you like) or an occasional paid listing. Everything we say is based on our own research or is opinion. Do your own due diligence. That means look it up yourself if you don’t think the stats or our opinion is correct. We hand choose the names but we are paid to make this list by both the auction houses, individuals that are auctioning names, and Godaddy affiliate links. Keep that in mind and only buy names that YOU think are good
I put a proxy bid of $27 on CustomLawnCare, so I’m glad you didn’t bid higher. 🙂
It’s my first ever .net, and I will use to test outbound to end users for the first time. Thanks for mentioning it, as I normally only look at .com.
And btw, the title says July 5th, which was yesterday.
Tomas,
Yesterday was a good day so I thought I would continue it
Tomas,
You’ll sell it at a profit. I know that industry and there are hundreds of companies that share that name
Sounds good! 🙂
So I use Chrome which has an autofill option. When I type in “d” in the address bar, chrome takes me to dsad.com. You got your start with domaining.com but you’ve built up your own brand that I direct navigate to.
Tony,
Thanks. Nice to know I have beaten out other sites that start with D as the go to site. And yes, but I never forget who helped me in the beginning
Sigh .. despite coming here regularly, when I type in “D”, Chrome still takes me to Donkeyfu***rs.com !!!
.
PS .. Shane .. did I ever mention how much I love your company logo? lol
Have a great weekend and thanks for the work you guys put into this.
Thank you Chris.
