Below are the results of the Sedo Great Domain Auction. I think that Sedo isn’t too happy with the results. Not the sales total and sell through rate that you normally get at their monthly auction. The two LLL.coms set the low bar for LLL.coms but names with a V are generally the lowest priced LLL so it makes sense. DNE was a fair price and but the edge definitely went to the buyer. The surprise of the day was Movie.tw for five figures. I don’t even know what or where .tw is and I’ve never even heard of it. I realize Movie is a huge keyword but I didn’t see that coming. The reality of the auction was that the names weren’t priced to sell. The reserves were too high. Sedo has to let people do this because without it they couldn’t fill an auction and you never know what is going to sell until you try. Although other than movie.tw I could have told you what was going to sell before the auction started. Take a look at the total list below.

Have a name at auction and need more exposure? Send me an email. We Charge $10 per name per day. We may be able to help. If you have an auction you want to promote, email us for details.*All names chosen by us, Shane and Josh . (ie you click through and purchase a name you like) or an occasional paid listing. Everything we say is based on our own research or is opinion. Do your own due diligence. That means look it up yourself if you don’t think the stats or our opinion is correct. We hand choose the names but we are paid to make this list by both the auction houses, individuals that are auctioning names, and Godaddy affiliate links. Keep that in mind and only buy names that YOU think are good.
I think dne.com was a steal. But yes, in general a disappointing auction.
I read somewhere that .tw (Taiwan) is the fastest growing ccTLD currently, but still the price does not make sense since they don’t use English over there unless I missed something…
Thanks Michael,
Had no idea that it was popular. Or at least popular to register. Now every person selling a .tw is going to reference the Movie.tw sale as a comp
Yeah, I am sure they will 🙂 But it seems .tw could be in a bubble. I remember where I read about this extension:
