Today is a special day. It’s my Mom’s birthday. Some of you have met my Mom. I brought her to a domain conference. It was at TRAFFIC in Las Vegas and she lived close so I figured it was a perfect chance to see my Mom and go to a conference. I wanted to show here what a great group of people were involved in domain investing and they didn’t disappoint.
I have always respected Rick Schwartz for his achievement in domain investing but that week I gained respect for him as a person. When he heard I was bringing my Mom he gave her a free VIP pass and announced that all Moms were invited and could come for free. We all love our parents but Rick understood its our Moms who often make the biggest sacrifices and its only fair we return all the favors as we get older.
She had a great time and couldn’t believe that I had a whole other identity other than the plant guy. Everyone was so kind to her and everyone did such a great job making her feel at home. I remember Greg McNair, Alan Dunn, and Frank Schilling spending time at the socials talking with her. I think her conversations were longer with those guys than I’ve ever had.
Some think that it’s odd that I brought my Mom to a conference but I honestly didn’t care. Any chance I can spend seeing my parents I’m going to take. And any chance I get to sit around and talk domains I’m doing that as well. I see no reason I can’t mix the two. It worked out so well I brought her to a second one at NamesCon and again, Richard Lau was nice enough to give her a free ticket. And again she had a great time.
My Mom reads this blog every day so Mom, Happy Birthday. Thank you for making me the person I am and thank you for all the time and sacrifices you gave to let me grow up with smiles every day. Even if some people don’t think the result was all that great :). I’ll give you names and you can tell him how you feel about it next domain conference in person.
Quote of the Day: “You will get all you want in life, if you help enough other people get what they want ” Zig Ziglar

Have a name at auction and need more exposure? Send me an email. We Charge $10 per name per day. We may be able to help. If you have an auction you want to promote, email us for details.*All names chosen by us, Shane and Josh . (ie you click through and purchase a name you like) or an occasional paid listing. Everything we say is based on our own research or is opinion. Do your own due diligence. That means look it up yourself if you don’t think the stats or our opinion is correct. We hand choose the names but we are paid to make this list by both the auction houses, individuals that are auctioning names, and Godaddy affiliate links. Keep that in mind and only buy names that YOU think are good.

Happy Belated Birthday Shane’s Mom! 🙂
Hey! Long time no see Ategy.
Heya Travis .. still kicking around. Been rather busy. 2019 was a good one for me in the world of domains .. but still a bit of a mess outside of domains .. I’m still trying to figure out how to make 30 hour long days so I can get everything done! lol … I go fairly deep into the masterlist myself for my own acquisitions, so don’t really go through other people’s lists much anymore (well .. I only really ever went through the lists here, I never really used anyone else’s), so I’m not really here daily .. but DSAD was pretty much the only place I came consistently on a daily basis when I started out, and I do enjoy reading what you guys are up to and often find myself coming back to read 1-2 weeks worth of posts in one shot! 🙂
My 2020 resolution was to ramble a bit more outside of NP .. figured wishing Shane’s mom a Happy B-Day was a good way to get started! lol
How are things on your end?
Doing well thanks. Glad to hear things are going well for you. Keep in touch.
