I’m not going to make any judgements so I’ll let you make it yourself. Ok I’ll make some. A group of domain investors put together a group of domains and made a company and traded their domains for shares. Shares which they hope to sell in an IPO. In theory it sounds good and many have made a lot of money doing similar things with a lot less valuable assets than the domains involved. But anything to do with the SEC is super serious and every I needs to be dotted and Ts need to be crossed. You can read more about it here
And no, these prices aren’t real prices. They are merely established values. I’ll be curious to see how it all turns out. There are smarter and wealthier people than me involved so I am merely a Monday morning quarterback here.
On a side note I had a guy buy some stuff from me and paid me in hundreds and they were nice blue hundreds. I’m not really a big fan of $100s since they are actually hard to spend ,but these were some nice blue bills. I asked if he had trouble spending hundreds and he said “Not if you buy expensive enough stuff”. He then proceeded to pull out a little bag the size of a crown royal bag. He showed me a stack in the bag and said it was $100K. I asked him why in the world was he stupid enough to carry 100K around. He said he had just sold a few things over the weekend and they all paid him in cash. I kind of believed him but one thing made me wonder. Do people only pay in blue hundreds now? Because every single one of those bills was a blue hundred. At least it seemed like it. A big blue block. I seen tens of thousands of dollars of cash some weekends but its been a while since I’ve seen that much. I always forget how small a stack of $10K is. New bills don’t take up much space. I also forget how stupid people are that carry lots of it

Have a name at auction and need more exposure? Send me an email. We Charge $10 per name per day. We may be able to help. If you have an auction you want to promote, email us for details.*All names chosen by us, Shane and Josh . (ie you click through and purchase a name you like) or an occasional paid listing. Everything we say is based on our own research or is opinion. Do your own due diligence. That means look it up yourself if you don’t think the stats or our opinion is correct. We hand choose the names but we are paid to make this list by both the auction houses, individuals that are auctioning names, and Godaddy affiliate links. Keep that in mind and only buy names that YOU think are good.
