Domain Shane’s Daily List of Domains at Auction for Monday October 29th, 2018

When I watched A Star is Born I feel like I was watching the story of Josh and I.  Except I was never a star, I an incredibly ugly version of Bradley Cooper and Josh has been successful from day one.  Just from a known commodity standpoint.  His lists are so much better than mine and he really puts in the time.  He does a fantastic job using scripts to work through drops and goes deep.  But that’s not how he makes money.  He makes money by successfully picking up names that have a higher potential of resell than most names.  And those percentages come through.  It’s 100% a numbers game and he is winning that game.  Some say its a game that can’t be won but they are missing the most important step.  Getting it on as many platforms as possible for a potential buyer to find it.  It really needs to be EVERYWHERE.   He gets them everywhere.  I sit here and tell you about me selling a name a couple times a month and he has that many every day…and more.  But he can’t teach you which names. As he said yesterday, it’s art.  But you can make sure your names are properly listed everywhere.

On that note, we sold a name yesterday.  Kevin Fink and I partnered up on a .io and while it wasn’t a huge sale it was four figures and we tripled our money.  We hadn’t gotten many offers.  Just a few in the year that we had it and decided to take the offer and keep moving.  I think we could have sold for more down the road but who knows how long we’d have to wait and .io is not like dot com.  It could be successful forever or something newer and cooler could come around and deflate the values.  Why a partner on such a small investment?  It’s a test partnership to see how we would work together.  Being friends is easy.  Working together when money is involved is more difficult.  It worked out just fine and I imagine we’ll roll it into more names.  I’ll release the name after we close the deal.

Here are today’s names. A bit short today but just didn’t see many I liked. Click through to see the current price

Quote of the Day:  If you begin to regret, you’ll dull your future decisions and let others make your choices for you. Nobody can foretell the outcome. Each decision you make holds meaning only by affecting your next decision.” -Erwin Smith, Shingeki no Kyoujin

Domain of the Day:  BeardButter.com  Might be my favorite name on the list because it has one of the best chances of reselling IMO

Namejet and Sedo Names and Others

883.org   We’ll see how strong the NNN.org market is.  The 88 obviously helps

TopCars.com    Officially a five figure name.   Not unjustified if you sell six figure cars

Empresso.com   I think coffee and when I Googled it that was the first thing that comes up.  Expiry so no reserve

ArmorPay.com   Was up for auction earlier. I thought it sold but reserve is now under $500

StitchMaker.com  No bids, no reserve.  Clothing or sowing product

TheBNB.com    A bed and breakfast can turn from “A” to a “The” with one purchase

MoneyJump.com   Nobody’s jumped on this one

Godaddy Domains That I Like With Multiple Bids

TheRC.com  RC cars and planes have taken back seat to drones but still a big business.  RC cola could surprise with a campaign

LoveCoffee.com   Billions of people do.   Leads all names in bids

EcoFruit.com  Eco everything is in fashion right now.  Organic, fair trade, artisan picked fruit

CannaBlast.com   I sell canna names to domainers and botanical names to canna companies.  Rosener would agree

DebtReliefAssistance.com   High CPC and already looks like a name on an infomercial

FeelHigh.com  Ironic because the not feeling high market of CBD oil may end up being bigger than the feel high market

Raily.com   Online model trains?

VipCoaching.com   You’ve heard me say lately about the huge growth of Internet Coaching.

MiaoBao.com      I can tell just from the price that its a Chinese name

AngelSpa.com   Upgrade name for a dozen places

OneTrackMind.com  My wife says all men have this

TVOnline.org   The action on this is is for backlinks.  GD loves it

YesAcademy.com   Unfortunately where most managers are looking to hire assistants.  Yes people

EHLH.com   Under $200 at press time. Under $300 would be a good buy.  My opinion alone. Don’t buy based on my opinion or you will lose all your money and have to work for company that restores antique toilets in NY

MoneyPeople.com    1999 birthday.   Godaddy values at $4900.    I almost think I would like to have “The” in front if I had to choose.  Both if I owned this one

FineSilver.com  I’m guessing there are still some people that collect Silver.  Not exactly scarce

Godaddy Domains

plugins.cc  Plugins and apps are two types of companies that would use .cc and .io

Sezia.com  5L.com with no bids. 1999 birthday

YoungMob.com Sounds like a rapper so it makes a good brand.  So we have IPA, Native American Chief, and Rapper as the three types of names that make general brands

FashionBrain.com No bids.  “fashion but smarter”

StartupAdventures.com  Startup blog name.   Hopefully the startup had a big exit and now he/she want to write about it with your name

Cap.me  I think it would work for selling hats

LawnSurgeon.com They do cut just like a surgeon

GamePlayers.org  In case eSports people want to start a union

CollarAndCuff.com  Love this brand for a shirt company

GetOutofYourRut.com   Nice marketing name for any service or product that thinks they can improve you in something

Everest2.com  Not sure it has much value but there are more people like me that have a fascination with Everest

Crap.us   Unfortunately what most .us are

  1. Botanical names sell? Serious? Must be private sales as publicly, only 2 in the last 8 years barely cracked 4 figures. My tight 20 year old name has never had an offer. Ha ha. One day, one day…

    1. Chris,
I don’t mean the actual term Botanical. I mean like Leaf, sage, and all kinds of horticultural names. tell me the names of your canna shops in your area

  2. Oh, sorry, Shane. LA area names are all over the map – Hollyweed420, OrganicMC, domains that don’t match the biz name, and lots of really crappy names like meccanaturalmedicine.org. I agree – the pure botanic and short names will go to the more sophisticated companies. And the crappy one-offs will churn among domainers and little budget dispensaries. Fun to watch the industry develop. And thanks for your time!
