When I was doing my podcast. I knew it was going to take a lot of time and a little money but I didn’t realize how much. The booking of people. The preparation. The recording. Paying to host the podcast. Paying to edit. It really added up. I sat down and thought about what I could do with the time and the money. That’s when I decided to pivot over to building the Beehouse Brand. I could use that time to fill bottles, work with local beekeepers. Use that money for labels and bottles. For the same amount of time and money, I was able to start the brand and have actual products for sale. Or at least I’m close. It’s also why I truly appreciate the time that Josh, Keith, Alvin, and Andrew put in each week. They are all in and it shows in the quality.
It’s funny because when I’m talking to bee keepers they are always like “that is expensive, it will be $500” In my mind I’m thinking “I’ve spent $1000 on a decent domains that I will probably hold for 3 years” so the $500 to get a piece of equipment to make things go faster is nothing. And its not that different than having a professional edit your videos and podcasts. Comparing the revenue and profits is a no brainer too. I may not make much with the brand but its definitely more than I make podcasting.
In the time I would have spent recording and editing a podcast I can pour about 300 bottles of 12oz of honey. That about $4,000 in sales. $4000 is nothing but if I can scale that and gradually add products it could be a real business. I am treating it as such and definitely have the facilities to scale. I think I am going to miss the Christmas gift window but the beauty of honey is that it essentially keeps forever and that gives me time to get ready for next year way ahead of time. And spring is huge at the garden center and I think I can move a few hundred bottles a month there. I’m sure a few of you will buy some bottles and as soon as its ready you all get first dibs. So far I have the following varieties
Wildflower (Pennsylvania)
Country Arbors Wildflower
Clover
Tupelo
Look for it soon.
Domain of the Day: X22.com LOVE this one. Would like to add it to my portfolio but five figures is a tough spend right now as I save for a big name
Quote of the Day: “Don’t be fooled by the calendar. There are only as many days in the year as you make use of. One man gets only a week’s value out of a year while another man gets a full year’s value out of a week.” – Charles Richards
Remember to click the links to see the current prices and if you are going to pay for a name do it while visiting DSAD.com. It pays for the gas to run the ship.

Have a name at auction and need more exposure? Send me an email. We Charge $10 per name per day. We may be able to help. If you have an auction you want to promote, email us for details.*All names chosen by us, Shane and Josh . (ie you click through and purchase a name you like) or an occasional paid listing. Everything we say is based on our own research or is opinion. Do your own due diligence. That means look it up yourself if you don’t think the stats or our opinion is correct. We hand choose the names but we are paid to make this list by both the auction houses, individuals that are auctioning names, and Godaddy affiliate links. Keep that in mind and only buy names that YOU think are good.
Shane,
