So glad that November is here. With the time change I get an extra hour sleep and a startover on domain selling. I feel a big month coming. Probably less of a feeling and more of a “the last two months were so bad it can only get better” feeling. In the last week, I’ve gotten a few big offers for domains I own but I am not looking to get rid of my top 1% for anything but the top 1% of prices. They are just too hard to replace. $100K isn’t going to get me a great domain right now. And I’m not talking about the “post your best domain” domains. I am talking about one word, major brand potential, domains.
One another note. You may or may not have noticed that I have stopped doing domain shows including Domain Sherpa. I feel like its time to let other people give their opinions. There’s not much to say without repeating myself. As long as the same questions keep being asked I’m going to be a broken record. Bill Sweetman’s interview reminded me that I want to stick to a certain style of talk. More rounded, more entertainment. He did such an amazing job that it reminded me of what is possible. What I was putting out wasn’t that great. This is nothing against any of the existing programs. They spend a lot of time to produce the content they do. They should be appreciated. I’m merely saying that me being on there doesn’t add anything at this point. I am doing the Aussie domain show this week because I owed them an appearance. I like what they do and its worth it to me to sit and listen to their accent for an hour but it’s going to be sporadic from there.
As for my podcast. I also question that. Why would anyone want to listen? Who am I that makes someone want to give up an hour. I realize its about the guest and I have the same question. Why would a guest want to give me an hour? I have nothing to offer them.
This self doubt is completely normal. Even after success there is something called Imposters Syndrome where you don’t feel you deserve the success. I’m not there yet. I merely doubt why I am special enough to have someone watch or listen to me about domains. Or even why someone would want to listen to anything strictly about domains. Hey, I love domains but you can only look through so many shitty portfolios and give advice until everything that can be said has been said.
I’ve got mojo. And it includes domains. I love my portolio. I think I’m going to make a ton of money with domains in the near and future. I think there are some amazing stories to be told about the industry. I just have to find out how to bring all my ideas into one package. I’ll figure it out but the only way to do that is drop back, do nothing, and restart. I’m in the do nothing period and preparing period.

Have a name at auction and need more exposure? Send me an email. We Charge $10 per name per day. We may be able to help. If you have an auction you want to promote, email us for details.*All names chosen by us, Shane and Josh . (ie you click through and purchase a name you like) or an occasional paid listing. Everything we say is based on our own research or is opinion. Do your own due diligence. That means look it up yourself if you don’t think the stats or our opinion is correct. We hand choose the names but we are paid to make this list by both the auction houses, individuals that are auctioning names, and Godaddy affiliate links. Keep that in mind and only buy names that YOU think are good.
