I’ve made it pretty clear over the years I’m not a big fan of dot .co. I always figured they were just trying to spend a lot of money trying to convince people it was more than just a typo of .com. Once the marketing ended the popularity would end. I tried to make a little money during the publicity push and the Chinese rush but never had much luck. Despite having a few good sales over the years, few domain investors have ever made some money. So two things are going to happen from here in my opinion. I am going to be completely wrong about .cos waining use or the people buying the names are going to lose money. I really hope I am wrong. I would much rather have .co be successful than me be right. Being right makes me no money. I say this because I want as many TLDs as possible to be successful because that is how I make money. And by successful I mean successful in the domain investing front. The success of dot club has meant zero to domain investors. We talk about .club all the time but the resale value of the string is a little less than zero. Dot co is definitely better than that but I don’t have my hopes or my money invested in any except a few LLL.co I forgot to put up for auction. Today I’ll find out if they have any value. I hope they have a lot. So far so good. Here are today’s names. Click through to see the current price

Shane, I sold one .co, after that, nothing…
You are one better than many
Let’s not forget that .co is a ccTLD as well. Premium Spanish keyword names might be able to do well in the aftermarket. But for global brands it is dead. Remember Overstock, anyone?
