We recorded one of my favorite shows of Domain Sherpa on Tuesday. The panel was Kate Buckley, Braden Pollock, and I with Tess hosting. It went really long but it was because there was some great discussion. Both of them have a good sense of humor so there was lots of joking to go along with the info. Those two have sold millions of dollars worth of domain this past year and they share a ton of great stories and tips.
We had a some good conversation off camera and one of the things we discussed was women who don’t get credit for their accomplishments because of their looks. I have always believed that a person that was more pleasant to look at would have an advantage over others. Not just women but men as well. Not saying that anyone can’t do a great job, just saying that a prettier person usually has an advantage by the laws of nature. I am absolutely not the best looking person but I value my smile and think that keeping a nice smile and using it has gotten me lots of sales over the years in the retail business. A greeting with a nice smile puts people at ease. I realize its different for women. Generally because men are pigs and women are even meaner. At least that’s what the girls in my house say.
Anyone who has met Kate knows that the beauty is in the personality. That won’t change with age. That southern charm and easy going attitude makes a buyer feel at home. She can talk with a complete stranger and make them feel at home. That’s how most southern people are. They don’t know a stranger. She’s not bullshitting them, she’s just taking away their anxiety by having a voice that’s smooth, with a good cadence, and exudes confidence and intelligence. And when you’re working most of your deals on the phone, there isn’t a better trait to have. So if she is making sales with her beauty its the beauty in her voice. This is attainable by anyone with training and practice
All that being said, I have never had a problem with people making money on their looks. If you’re fortunate enough to have been given the gift of beauty then use it in your favor. It’s nothing to be ashamed of. I’ve never understood why people that workout 2 hours a day, eat properly, and maintain a healthy lifestyle don’t want to be judged on their looks. They’ve earned every bit of it. I understand not wanting to be known only for beauty but many a career has been launched with beauty and finished with skill and talent. We make a living on the Internet trying to catch someones eye and it works the same in the real world. Beauty catches the eye. It’s what you do when you’ve caught their eye that defines the person. Here are today’s names. Make sure to click on the names to see the current price and to help DSAD keep on keeping on.

One of my favorite professors in college studied beauty and how it impacts your life. Here he is on The Daily Show:

That was fantastic. Thanks for sharing
