Not much to talk about today. It’s hard to have stories when all you do is work. I try not to watch or read too much news because I’m pretty sure nobody really knows how long this will last and I’m not one for seeking out everyone’s opinions on something nobody has an answer for. While I’m sure its going to effect me or those around me at some point, my life has probably changed less than anyone you’ll meet in regards to adjusting for Covid. The only difference between last year and now is safety protocols at work and shopping and I’m now twice as busy as I was last year.
There really hasn’t been a better time for me financially. The offers are rolling in daily. My businesses all just happen to be where people want to spend their money. Add in the fact my money goes further than it has since 2007 and you can say I’m either very lucky or my decisions of where to build my businesses have played out well. I’d say both.
While I have you let’s do a little crowd negotiating. I have LeafMarket priced at $14,995. I got an offer from Godaddy brokers representing a client of $1000. Two things to remember. One, I pay no commission in this case, the client does. Two, I paid a few thousand for it at auction on Godaddy. What would you come back with if you owned the name? What would you sell it for?

Have a name at auction and need more exposure? Send me an email. We Charge $10 per name per day. We may be able to help. If you have an auction you want to promote, email us for details.*All names chosen by us, Shane and Josh . (ie you click through and purchase a name you like) or an occasional paid listing. Everything we say is based on our own research or is opinion. Do your own due diligence. That means look it up yourself if you don’t think the stats or our opinion is correct. We hand choose the names but we are paid to make this list by both the auction houses, individuals that are auctioning names, and Godaddy affiliate links. Keep that in mind and only buy names that YOU think are good.
Shane,
Love the LeafMarket name- I would go back with $12K and settle at $8-10K- this gives you ~4-5x ROI. Don’t sell too cheap as it is a great brand in an emerging space!
Mike
Mike and Boss. We all think alike. I’m at $12.8 firm
So you’re going to counter higher than your current BIN? 😀
$14,995 – 20% = $11,996
Is my understanding content the your Afternic rep will add 20% on top of your asking price?
Eugene,
Sounds like they should just take the BIN 🙂
*Is my understanding correct that.. (autocorrected, lol)
To answer your question about LeafMarket I’m honestly not that crazy about the name, but you certainly know a lot more about the space than I do. I think just based on my little knowledge of it I’d try for somewhere in the 8-10k range. I feel as if many domainers out there are more aggressive in what they want to make in terms of profit compared to me though.
As with all domain deals it comes down to what you’d be comfortable with and if you think you can get the BIN or close to it later on. Considering you don’t need the money right now with business booming I’d probably counter high and see what happens. Who knows, maybe the perspective buyers business is booming too right now 😉
Perhaps the buyer is the company called: True Leaf Market
I will say $12888.
I would hold tight with your $12.8K counter offer, Good luck with the sale.
