I mentioned it on Twitter yesterday but I will lead with it again here today. Travis and I sold NIQ. com through Brandbucket. Yes Brandbucket. Many people don’t realize it but Brandbucket does have some big dollar names and they do well with them. We are proof. Brandbucket doesn’t allow us to tell the exact price as its against their TOS but we can say that we had it listed for $250K and the offer eventually got close enough that we took it.
The whole team at Brandbucket did an amazing job. Brendan negotiating the deal, Roxana handling the finances, and Margot overseeing it all. And the commission is only 15% when its over $100K which is as good or better than most brokers or sales houses. It sounds like a commercial for Brandbucket but you will sing the praises of anyone that puts six figures in your bank account.
I am hoping to have one or two more six figure sales to announce soon. They’ll probably be like this, not exact, but details on how and with whom it happened. When I talked about having a $250K year it was a goal and it looks like the goal should be met. Next goal is seven figures of sales a year but one step at a time.
Domain of the Day: LifetimeProtection.com Going to be a marketing name but definitely catches your eye. I’m hoping that’s a long time

Have a name at auction and need more exposure? Send me an email. We Charge $10 per name per day. We may be able to help. If you have an auction you want to promote, email us for details.*All names chosen by us, Shane and Josh . (ie you click through and purchase a name you like) or an occasional paid listing. Everything we say is based on our own research or is opinion. Do your own due diligence. That means look it up yourself if you don’t think the stats or our opinion is correct. We hand choose the names but we are paid to make this list by both the auction houses, individuals that are auctioning names, and Godaddy affiliate links. Keep that in mind and only buy names that YOU think are good.
Shane, Travis, Congratulations, beautiful sale! I did not know that about BrandBucket.
Thanks Michael, Jeff, and Tom
Congratulations!!!!! What a fantastic sale! Really inspiring.
Congrats on the big sale guys!
Shane, did you list with this BrandBucket with the understanding that they’d do outbound marketing? Based on your tweets, it seemed like that’s how they sold it, right?
Andrew,
I don’t think they did outbound. But they certainly managed all the inbound and worked the buyer up
We definitely didn’t list it with BB with the expectation that they would do outbound on the name. That isn’t their business model.
congrats!!!
SHANE CULTRA IS THE GREATEST DOMAINER EVER TO COME OUT OF URBANA, ILL!!!!! CONGRATS TO SHANE WIFE BECAUSE SHE IS GOING TO SPEND ALL THE MONEY ON A NICE HOME IN NC NOW!!!!
