When I was in my 20s my favorite baseball player was the Cubs’ Mark Grace. In an era when everyone was hitting it out of the park, he was hitting singles and doubles. Always in the top 5 in batting average. It seemed like he was always on base. None of the glory of the big hitters but to me, he was much more fun to watch. Add to it he was nailing every girl in Wrigleyville. I lived across the street from Wrigley and would always see him out at the bars or riding his bike too and from the stadium. Blond haired, blue eyed, and star baseball player for some reason, seemed to bring in the girls. At that point in time I would have loved to be Mark Grace.
Fast forward 30 years. Mark Grace is an alcoholic and still seems to be chasing the ladies and the bottle. It’s a shame because he really was a great announcer. He used to call the Diamonback games but got fired for saying some crazy things. Crazy things he never would have said sober. 30 years ago he was my hero and now he’d probably would like my life. At least the family, lack of anxiety and the security part. I loved all the money and ladies he got but now those are at the bottom of my list. I have plenty of money and an amazing wife.
The only thing I take away from Mark Grace now is hitting singles and double will get it done. You keep count with runs and you don’t have to get all your runs with one swing of the bat. Some times you stack the bases and keep driving them in. Every once in a while you’ll hit one out but most of the time you have little wins. And that’s how I’ve approached domain investing and life and so far I’m winning the game.

Have a name at auction and need more exposure? Send me an email. We Charge $10 per name per day. We may be able to help. If you have an auction you want to promote, email us for details.*All names chosen by us, Shane and Josh . (ie you click through and purchase a name you like) or an occasional paid listing. Everything we say is based on our own research or is opinion. Do your own due diligence. That means look it up yourself if you don’t think the stats or our opinion is correct. We hand choose the names but we are paid to make this list by both the auction houses, individuals that are auctioning names, and Godaddy affiliate links. Keep that in mind and only buy names that YOU think are good.
