I could write for days on the past 10 years. I’ve literally chronicled them all right here for each and every day. I am most thankful for meeting and becoming partners with Aaron, then Josh and Travis, and most recently Mike. Travis and I do some investing together as well and I have to say I’ve probably enjoyed working with him as much as anyone I’ve ever worked with. Meeting all those guys is certainly the highlight of the decade.
Investing in .ws is probably the low. It wasn’t the investment itself but the negative posts and comments in the blogs that forced me to grow a thicker skin and realize that the more popular you become the more negative you will draw. Especially if you make a mistake. It comes with the territory. It was a turning point in my life and when I think back my thoughts are merely a learning point.
There isn’t enough people to thank for helping me along the last 10 years but Michael Cyger, Drew Rosener, and Michael Berkens. The first I talk to almost daily, Drew I talk to a few times a month, and Michael a few times a year. Yet they are people I respect so highly that merely watching how they move and act (Drew gets a pass on some acts over the years) are lessons. I try to emulate parts of each and hope to achieve just a percentage of the success they’ve had over the last decade.
If I were to give advice to anyone it would be watch our consistency. You can say anything you want about this blog, the people. What you can’t deny is our consistently. Every single morning we provide a list and then a recap of the prices from the names on that list. I can guarantee that is of value. Value because the only way to learn is to see domains and what they sell for. Getting to know your product. We provide that. Throw in my stupid ass stories and comments and there are probably some entertainment or info that stays with you. I know there are a lot more of you that read than comment. I wish all of you a Happy New Year and can’t thank you enough for the clicks and purchases or just stopping buy each day. I hope each of you have purchased a name and sold it for more. Then this has real value.
Here’s to a new decade and a new year. May your steps be faster and grounded, your bank account have more zeros, your family have more smiles, your travels be fulfilling, your work seem like play, and your domain sales be plentiful.

Have a name at auction and need more exposure? Send me an email. We Charge $10 per name per day. We may be able to help. If you have an auction you want to promote, email us for details.*All names chosen by us, Shane and Josh . (ie you click through and purchase a name you like) or an occasional paid listing. Everything we say is based on our own research or is opinion. Do your own due diligence. That means look it up yourself if you don’t think the stats or our opinion is correct. We hand choose the names but we are paid to make this list by both the auction houses, individuals that are auctioning names, and Godaddy affiliate links. Keep that in mind and only buy names that YOU think are good.
Happy New Year, Shane! I look forward to reading about both your domain investing and personal life this year.
And I guess I will be spending more time on blogs since it seems Rob Monster is completely taking over NamePros…
Happy New Year Shane, Aaron, Travis, Mike & Josh!
I read, and appreciate what you do here every day. And yes, I have bought and sold from your list. And most of the time, for a profit. 🙂
Happy New Year Shane and company. Here’s to another year of snarky comments, clever whips, and fantasy football collapse.
Thanks Bar, Mike, and Micheal. As good a day as ever to reset and do some things better
Hey Shane really enjoyed reading your blog thru the years…. along with purchasing lots of domains from it, especially all the 5Ns you posted daily before the rush…
Here’s to the next Decade!
