After reading the “argument” between Bill Kara and Andrew Alleman on Twitter I am reminded why I am so glad I don’t report on domain name news. I offend people enough as it is without reporting on their companies, their babies. I really like Bill and Andrew. They are two of my favorite people in the industry and while I hate to see them fight, to me it was nothing more than the passion that Bill has for his company and Andrew just writing a story with the data he had in front of him. He’s not paid enough to be a true, dig deep, reporter and get both sides of a story and spend weeks bringing in info. Bill wanted to see more. Andrew is as close to reporting as we have in this industry but as I said, not a big enough industry to financially support full time, in depth, reporting. Our industry is pretty much articles derived from press releases or tips from other domain investors. Nobody is out looking for stories. And as Michael Berkens said, and I summarize “this is why I’m glad I’m out of scooping stories” which really meant, I’m glad I don’t have to write domain stories for 800 people of which half own or work for the companies I am writing about”
Yesterday I also had a stomach scope. The final step in my full body examination. Because I work so hard and run so hard (and turning 50) I had a complete body check over. Not just those worthless physicals that doctors give you and the routine they go through. But full EKG, CT Scan, Vascular health check, brain scan, and stomach check. The first thing people say is “Isn’t that crazy expensive?” and “My health provider won’t even do that for me”. One, it is expensive but some of it is considered preventative and depending on your health insurance, the rest is just your deductible. I probably cost me $5K overall, maybe a little more. But I only have one body and I’d like it to last another 40 years. As far as getting it done, I am fortunate to have all my friends as doctors. They did help me a little when it comes to getting appointments. And my insurance also lets me go to any hospital and not need referrals. But to get it all done it took 18 months. My stomach came back clean as I hoped so essentially a clean bill of health. And I definitely am going to introduced some intermittent fasting to my routine. I really liked how I felt the day I fasted. A tad bit hungry but I felt sharp and not bloated and sluggish all day. I accomplished more than I normally did because I didn’t have that hour after meals where I get tired and feel full. I’m 100% going to keep up my calories and diet but I found another tweak that may may my days better than they already are. Here are today’s names. Make sure to click on the names to see the current price and to help DSAD keep on keeping on

Have a name at auction and need more exposure? Send me an email. We Charge $10 per name per day. We may be able to help. If you have an auction you want to promote, email us for details.*All names chosen by us, Shane and Josh . (ie you click through and purchase a name you like) or an occasional paid listing. Everything we say is based on our own research or is opinion. Do your own due diligence. That means look it up yourself if you don’t think the stats or our opinion is correct. We hand choose the names but we are paid to make this list by both the auction houses, individuals that are auctioning names, and Godaddy affiliate links. Keep that in mind and only buy names that YOU think are good.
There is enough red meat/questionable business practices in this industry to launch the careers of many an independent investigative journalist. It’s only because the general public (including investigative journalists) are so uninformed about the world of domain names that none have turned their attention to unearthing the significant BS that passes for as BAU in the domain industry. Not yet. But if someone with journalistic skills and tenacity really shined the light, the elements that prefer to lurk in the dark would have nowhere to hide.
