I was looking for something the other day and came across an old project I tried a decade ago. It was a site called MarathonFinder.com. I worked with a young coder I met on SitePoint and we designed it and built it out. I had started to really get into running and I thought the Internet needed a better site to find marathons They could be graded and reviewed. And we could sell and review the gear needed to train and run them.
We had some success building sites and selling them but this one I wanted to keep. This was the layout of the site. You could click on a state and it would list the marathons by date. We incorporated Twitter feeds that mentioned the races and I hand wrote descriptions of every marathon and entered them. I reviewed some shoes and was going to make videos. Long story short, it never really got traction and was a lot of work. I realized that I could only concentrate of a few things at a time and this wasn’t one. I wasn’t willing to drop something else to dedicate the proper time. I would like to say I’ve learned my lesson but I haven’t. I essentially got Travis into again with RunBright.com. After I started it I realized I just don’t have the energy to make time to do more writing and reviewing.
I have a million more ideas and on good days I’m ready to make them happen. But then the tired days come and I have no drive. I think we all have been thought it. I have no doubt I could make anything a success if I put the proper time. But to this point there’s just not any more time. Time for a few tweets and posts but not for hours and hours of real thinking and work. Hoping one day I actually have the time. But I hope I still have the mind and the energy when that happens.
Domain of the Day: SmartFence.com Second time up here which shows how much I like it. Ends today. I am a bidder but most likely going way over my limits

Have a name at auction and need more exposure? Send me an email. We Charge $10 per name per day. We may be able to help. If you have an auction you want to promote, email us for details.*All names chosen by us, Shane and Josh . (ie you click through and purchase a name you like) or an occasional paid listing. Everything we say is based on our own research or is opinion. Do your own due diligence. That means look it up yourself if you don’t think the stats or our opinion is correct. We hand choose the names but we are paid to make this list by both the auction houses, individuals that are auctioning names, and Godaddy affiliate links. Keep that in mind and only buy names that YOU think are good.
