This weekend I have our big Kids day and fall festival. It started as a birthday party for my daughter. I would rent a giant slide and a pony and have her friends over for a party. If some kids showed up they could ride and slide. Every year more kids would show up until my daughter was too old to want a party and we now have thousands of people show up. Everything is free and part of the way I make money is by offering something cheap and nice for them to buy. Pumpkins and mums do the trick. They feel like they should buy something to thank us for all the free entertainment so they pick up a mum or two. It took me a while to figure this out. I knew we should have pumpkins and mums because I see every other orchard and nursery had them. But I figured if I could produce them in numbers and get the price down they would buy a few in thanks, or just buy them because they are the best and cheap. 12,000 mums later its working. Looking to hit 100K in mums sales next year (hoping for 80K this year) which is a pretty good boost from 4 years ago when we did $12k. I’ll let you know how it goes. Give me some time to count my money. And once again thank you to Eric Lyon of NamePros and Scorpion Agency for today’s comic. Here are today’s names. Click for current prices

Have a name at auction and need more exposure? Send me an email. I Charge $10 per name per day. We may be able to help. If you have an auction you want to promote, email us for details.*All names chosen by me, Shane . (ie you click through and purchase a name you like) or an occasional paid listing. Everything I say is based on my own research or is opinion. Do your own due diligence. That means look it up yourself if you don’t think the stats or my opinion is correct. I hand choose my names but I am paid to make this list by both the auction houses, individuals that are auctioning names, and Godaddy affiliate links. Keep that in mind and only buy names that YOU think are good
Good for you Shane. Great story. I planted a Hibiscus in the Spring that has grown rather large, it gets plenty of sun and water, the pot drains well because I drilled the bottom. I cured an aphids problem early on with Bonide. The plant produce dozens of flowers every week, the only problem is 15% of the leaves are constantly turning yellow. Is it too much fertilizer that is causing it?
Thanks
Yellow leaves are really common on hibiscus. They are also the bug king. They seem to get everything. Yellow leaves is either a water problem, a fertilization problem, and could be a light problem. Hibiscus love fertilizer and need more than pretty much any other tropical to keep them dark green. They also appreciate a trimming every once in a while to rejuvenate them. So keep them in high light. Keep them wet but well drained and fertilize the hell out it
