RIP DnForum.com. We are going to miss you dearly. Not the recent DNF but the old DNF. Where everyone went to buy, sell, and talk domain. I spent hours there learning about domains. Looking at sales, meeting new people, it was exciting. In its heyday I imagine it was minting cash. Some businesses become bigger than their owners but this wasn’t the case here. Adam Dicker’s fall from grace took all his entities with him, including DNForum. Namepros has taken over as the new place, and in many ways is better than DnForum ever was. But they are making no where near the money that Mr.Dicker was making.
Maybe someone will buy DnForum and try and bring it back. Maybe its not really dead, its just down for a few days. But its dead. Even if comes back. Adam and Namepros have collectively put a bullet in its head. I’m the coroner and I’ve officially filled out the cause of death. Stupidity and bad morals. Here are todays names. Click to see current prices.
Spokes.com Fantastic name if you’re dealing in bikes or wheels. 20 years old
TheWheels.com Cheap version of the above. No bids at $12
EQV.com Don’t see a lot of LLL.coms anymore on Godaddy but after this sale you may see more
GoWar.com Getting a few bids. Once you’ve seen war you’ll hate war
GameAccessories.com Long name but getting lots of bids. Not sure if anyone can spell accessories
TCHG.net, CKXF.net,
KHCM.com Very nice CHiP. I think it goes over $2500
XBX.net One of the better LLL.nets out this month. Even if you don’t like Chinese names (one of the 3 people I know) its still very memorable
BionicDuck.com This one is memorable as well. So maybe memorable has no value. No bidders
LegalRoom.com Surprised this one has no bids. Great legal help site name
HM9.com For two years you couldn’t go wrong with CCC. We’ll see if the same returns continue
YE9.com Not a consonant like the above but Ye is pretty strong on its own
XCK.biz These are now over $200
FCKK.com Yeah, I see fuck too
561666.com The 666 is the draw. Will probably cross $2500. Market says it will Edit-It was already at $4500
21636.com There are 100K 5Ns and yet we only have one or two a day at auction. That’s why this is at this price
14467.com And most of them are this quality
888230.com The 888 is nice but what I hate about this is I am going to have the final price compared to my 888 6Ns even though this one ends in zero which is completely different. But this is still a very nice name
93555.net There are some pretty good numbers today in a lot of different categories
99663.net Another good pattern dot net
xkx.co I think the three letter dot co could be hitting $1K by the end of the year. Yes, I said it
UUG.co, VCE.co, YSI.co and HLU.co These aren’t nearly as good as the above but still all most likely going to cross $200
KKZ.co This one already did
586321.com This looked like a plain old 6N.com but then I saw 321. Chinese love sequence
CH87.com, BC73.com, CH82.com, CH85.com and CH96.com If you’re looking to add to you LLNN.com collection
GIHV.com I usually have a group of lower quality LLLL.coms but today this is the worst and its still over $400
820916.com At $27. 6N.coms with zeros are at $53 in China. A little bird told me
595529.com Got one bid at $25. worth more IMO
Ma.ps Might be the most valuable .ps name in the world
FOR OTHER GREAT NAMES FOR SALE MAKE SURE TO VISIT CAX.COM
BuildUp.com The buildup is almost more exciting than the actual event
GetGrass.com Probably was originally thought to be for homeowners buying sod. All marijuana now
Oatmeal.net One word dot nets are a good value IMO right now. But they’re still hard to sell so you have to be careful what you buy
BCQ.net, BFQ.net, WPX.net Your daily list of LLL.nets
BalletOutfits.com Millions of results and millions of little girl’s parents by one, they wear it once, and it the closet it stays for eternity. 1 bidder. 15 years old
CeramicFlooring.com Surprised a flooring dealer hasn’t bought up all the flooring names by now
DetoxYourself.com Does this mean I am going to have to put coffee up my butt? Great marketing name. Only a few bidders
Inelastic.com As seen on DomainSherpa. Inelastic is an economic term. Its a good thing despite its look
Slevy.com Nice 5L.com. 35 million Google results but they’re in another language. As long as it doesn’t mean like “pervert” or something in Slavic then I think you’re good to use it as a brand
VFJ.com Don’t be scared of the V. Sounds like a dirty movie
EPV.com Electric something Vehicle
CAJE.com Nice CVCV
DSAW.com It’s what you use to cut DWood. Also a typo of DSAD.com
PitbullTerrier.com My 32nd favorite breed
185299.com, 686223.com, 867828.com, 909666.com Some great numbers to pick up today. If you like numbers. If you don’t then thanks for reading
Have a name at auction and need more exposure? Send me an email. (if you have trouble with the contact form its shane@ this domain name) I Charge $10 per name per day. We may be able to help. If you have an auction you want to promote, email us for details.*All names chosen by me, Shane . (ie you click through and purchase a name you like) or an occasional paid listing. Everything I say is based on my own research or is opinion. Do your own due diligence. That means look it up yourself if you don’t think the stats or my opinion is correct. I hand choose my names but I am paid to make this list by both the auction houses, individuals that are auctioning names, and Godaddy affiliate links. Keep that in mind and only buy names that YOU think are good
Some musings on possible interpretations of the numbers in 93555.net and 99663.net……..
I’ve read in more than one place on the web that 555 is pronounced wu-wu-wu and is used in Chinese pop culture to indicate whimpering. 5 is one of the weirder Chinese numbers IMO in that it changes depending on thecontext. It can indicate me, I, not, the 5 elements and more. So far the market seems to like whimpering with 555281.com selling for $689 just a few days ago. That’s fine with me as I have my own 555 numerics.
99 is said to indicate double longevity but is also commonly used amongst couples to indicate everlasting love.
At present the big demarcation seems to be 0 and 4 but even there we have grey areas as both 4 and 0 can be paired with other numbers for good effect. It will be interesting to see how these potential meanings effect price, if at all, going forward. Thanks for another great post, Shane!
PS LegalRoom.com was a listed by Michael Krell on BrandBucket last year and it sold for around $2500 as I recall. IIt’s a good name and I’m a bidder but I’m not sure I’ll be able to weather the Shane Effect bidding war that is sure to ensue 🙂
Keith,
I remember someone post that there was no DS Effect but there has been too much bitching about it for it not to be true 🙂
88230.com is interesting, I have 888207.com for sale and already had $7k+ high offer with a bin of $8888. If they are not getting that kind of money for a 888 6N, HOLD jmo.
JP,
I have 888733.com which is even better 🙂
I agree Shane, you should be looking at much more, nice follow up with the the 773!
@James, it is tempting but I have a feeling Id look back in 2-3 months and die a little in side lol So bin is a lucky $8888.
888207.com $7k all day long take it.
I bought a lifetime subscription to dnf for like $300 where do I get a refund?
