Today I have to give a couple speeches to some Master Gardeners. One is to about 400 people and one is to 20. I generally give talks about hot new plants or tips and tricks but after 30 years in the nursery business I’ve started to just give storytelling type talks. Life of a business person, or stories from a person that works with his brother and Dad. Today its just an hour on the great and the not so great things about growing up in the nursery business. Some good stories combined with some good pictures always makes the time go fast. I’ve always wanted to be a motivational speaker but I think I am finding that just being a good speaker in general with some good stories brings in a lot of people.
