Domain Spotlight:

Escrow.com

In this industry it is tough to do honest articles and keep relationships.  It was no more visible than the recent relationship between Sedo and Konstantinos of Online Domain.  He wrote a few articles that became paid listings at the top of Domaining.com that talked about Sedo and problems as he saw them. From the comments there are also others that agree with his statements.  But that doesn’t change the fact that put Sedo in a bad light and obviously they wouldn’t want to do business with him anymore.  Sedo is a private business has choices with whom the let use their service and especially who they partner with in marketing.  I almost laughed when I read an article yesterday that he was surprised they didn’t send him the sales results.  I don’t see any reason why they would send him any data or use their platform.  Again, I am not saying his article is wrong or that he doesn’t have every right to publish his articles.  I am merely saying that if I were Sedo I wouldn’t feel comfortable working with him either and would end the relationship on all fronts.  No reason to give more data to feed the fire.  This is a small industry and as I said earlier, we want everyone to succeed and get better. Some will, some won’t.  The ones that aren’t will merely fall back and settle into history.  Its how business works.   As long as they don’t take people’s money with them then nobody gets hurt.  They merely move on to another business or site.  Here are today’s names. 1. Whatever happened to the Chips and salsa hyping and dot whatever you were promoting?

Seems like it’s tough to keep a good rep and make money off newbies.

Ultimately if a domain has no meaning, or provides no competitive advantage, it holds little to no commercial value. This has been true since day 1, and still rings true today.

    1. RP

Sounds like you know what you are doing. Congrats. If you are still talking about .ws, I merely talked about what I was buying. And no, it is not working out well for me. I’m still doing OK though, thanks. I appreciate you reading the daily list.

    1. Konstantinos,

I assumed you were surprised since you wrote an article on it. I think they confirmed that they don’t want to work with you. Declining growth doesn’t make a company “bad” in the sense you are talking about. I still haven’t seen that they had done anything harmful or hurtful other than not grow.

      1. I wrote the article so people would know how bad company they are. That is what makes a company bad and all the other stuff I wrote about. Probably you haven’t read my articles and comments. They have f*cked me in every possible way. And then they don’t even has the courtesy to reply to emails.

They are both bad and dying. 2 separate things but most of the dying comes from being bad. Simple.

      2. Bad press. Get on the phone and talk. Not cut adrift. My experience with Sedo is cold (we are right you are wrong). Pulled my listings years ago. They need to make innovative changes in this current landscape of competition. e.g. Efty+Escrow under 4% fees.
