Last Sunday my daughter and I were in a Blue Catfish tournament on the Potomac river just south of Washington DC. We had a great day, saw a pair of eagles flying and grabbing fish out of the river, and we got 2nd place.
We also caught the big fish for the tournament at 72 pounds. While she did play on my phone a good bit, she helped out a lot and I’m glad she wanted to spend the day fishing with me. While winning was great, the experience would have been worth it even if we had not caught any fish.
The tournament was a 2 fish weigh in, with Payouts for 1st, 2nd, 3rd and big fish. Catch and release only, the fish had to swim away after weigh in or you would be disqualified.
