IKE’S LIST OF DOMAINS AT AUCTION FOR Saturday, February 3rd

Escrow.com

I had a long trip home from Las Vegas yesterday.  My flight was scheduled to leave around 11:30, so I arrived at the airport around 09:30, plenty of time to drop off my check bag and get through security.

You know it’s a bad sign when the plane that pulls up to the gate isn’t the bright yellow of the newer Spirit airliners, but rather a dirty off white. Now I know what your thinking right now without any further explanation, “You flew Spirit, you get what you paid for” and you would be correct.

The airline employee at the gate  advised the crowd that the flight would be delayed a few minutes while maintenance did a few checks on the plane. This then turned into a two hour delay and a 1:30 departure. Not a big deal, I had a book to read on my phone, so I went right around the corner from the gate to sit by a phone charging station where I could keep my phone charge full for the flight.

At 12:45 I heard over the Speaker, ” Last call for flight 391 to Philadelphia, the gate will be closing and you will not be able to board once the door is closed. Myself and 5 people sitting next to me by the charging station said ” What the hell is going on!” and ran to the gate. They chastised us for being late and said they did announce the departure. I didn’t care that much, at least I was on the plane, but no one that had been by the charging station had heard any announcement. We heard every other plane boarding announcement for the gates in close proximity to ours, but never heard the multiple messages for our plane until the last one. I did comment that I thought the time was changed to 1:30 and was advised that was estimated, but they emailed me with the new time so I assumed it was official.

After getting seated in my fake first class seat that doesn’t recline, that I paid an extra $38 for, they finally shut the door and we pushed off. We drove around for a little bit, I’m not really sure how far as I was falling asleep already, then we returned to the gate again. Apparently there was a smell in the cabin of exhaust fumes, I didn’t notice it but my nose was stuffed up.

So after almost missing my flight we headed back to the gate and deplaned. Again we were told that maintenance was fixing the problem and we would be delayed another hour. Then it was 2 hours, then 5 hours, then maybe it’ll just be cancelled, then they’re finding a new plane. They did give us a $7 voucher for food and then another one several hours later, as well as 2 $50 vouchers for future flights. The vouchers expire in 1 month lol.

Finally around 8 PM a bright yellow plane pulled up to the gate and we boarded the agian. When we finally took off everyone cheered.

A few people on the plane were Eagles fans that lived in Vegas and were flying home to watch the Super Bowl.  I assume they blamed the Vikings for sabotaging the plane.

We arrived in Philly around 03:30 Eastern, the trains wouldn’t be running for another 2 hours, so I requested an Uber to take me the remaining 100 miles home. $168 and it was worth every penny, the only way I was staying in an airport or train station any longer was if my legs were broken. Finally we arrived at my car that had been parked by the Elizabethtown train station for the past week, I gave the uber driver an extra $20 for hazard pay as the rain had started to freeze about halfway home.

While it took a long time, it wasn’t totally bad experience,  I met some nice people, read a book and won some money on the airport slots, but I sure was glad to be home.
