Crazy wind yesterday and today on the east coast. I can’t believe my power hasn’t gone out yet. It rained just a little yesterday but there were wind gusts up to 80 MPH. It felt like the windows were about to explode.
It would have made for a great blizzard, but no such luck. I don’t particularly care for snow that much anymore, but I do enjoy the electricity that’s in the air before the storm and the challenge of getting through it, especially if I’m at work. This usually only lasts until the last flakes fall, then It’s, “I wish all this damn snow would go away”.
I think most people secretly enjoy the chaos of an impending storm whether they admit it or not. Obviously there are tragedies, loss of lives and property with any significant weather event. No one wants this, but we know it’s a part of life.
This is part of the electricity, the energy of the storm. People want a distraction from the monotony of their boring lives and normal routines. There’s nothing that makes you feel more alive than coming out the other side of something crazy unscathed.
