For all you dog lovers out there I have a project I’d like to support. A friend of mine recently bought a new puppy, after their long time companion Scooter died. During their first vet visit they discovered that the puppy, “Sadi” had a heart defect and would die without surgery. The surgery costs about $7k and saved the life of Sadi. While they were able to afford the sudden costs, they have set up a Go Fund Me campaign to help someone else that runs into the same problem but is not able to afford the surgery.
So if you have a few extra bucks, donate a little to the cause. I really think it’s a great selfless thing they’re doing to help others. If you do donate any amount, put DSAD in the comments on the Gofundme page and I’ll list something you’re selling on the Tuesday or Saturday lists that I do.
Or here’s one more option. At the bottom of this page I’ve added my picks for tomorrows Pending Delete list. I’ve been registering 50 to 100 names a day off the pending deletes, both by hand catching them and backorders. If you like a name that’s on the list and register it or backorder it and catch it, please donate $5 per name to Sadi Saves. The names are not linked so there’s no commission or anything associated with them. Thanks a lot for your help.

PS .. Your post mentioned your friend bought a puppy as opposed to them stating on their page that they adopted. 🙂 … You should change it in your post from bought to adopted .. to me and many others it makes a HUGE difference so they might get a few more people to donate! So many dogs are being put down every year because of abandonment that nobody should pay a breeder, as it simply encourages the breeders to breed more and more puppies which in turn leads to more and more dogs living lonely lives in kennels until it’s their turn to be put down before their time. My ex adamantly wanted us to get a Dachshund .. but I always put my foot down saying I’d only even consider it if it was an adoption/rescue/etc .. eventually we found my little bundle of joy! The numbers of pets being put down each year are just too depressingly large to dismiss the issue! 🙁

I wonder how many people abandoning dogs or cats really are punished by the law.
I guess not too many. Otherwise, there should be a lot less animals at shelters.
What makes me sick, is the fact the same “people” sooner or later will get an other dog or cat.
