Sometimes I snore, especially if I fall asleep on my back or sitting in a recliner. I kept hearing an ad on the radio for the zyppah, a product that makes the snoring stop. My first thought when I heard the commercial was, why would you use a brandable with so many possible spellings and then market mainly on the radio. They spell the name in the ad several times so I guess that helps, but I still think it’s a crazy ass spelling.
So I bought the product the other day, I figured I’d see if it works. It was about $100 and thought sleeping better would certainly be worth it. The product is a mouth piece that’s supposed to pull your jaw forward and has a band in the back to keep your tongue from blocking the airway. You have to heat the thing up and then mold it to your teeth so that it fits.
Well not only do I snore, I also have a really bad gag reflex. I followed the directions, heated the zyppah in hot water, pulled it out of the water with a fork and held it in the air for 10 seconds so I wouldn’t burn myself. Then I attempted to mold it to my teeth, started gagging and threw up all over the bathroom sink. Then with an empty stomach I tried again, managing to get the right mold, but the damn thing isn’t comfortable at all. The instructions say that it could take 6 weeks to get used to it, we shall see.

Maybe it’s the domainer in you falling too heavily asleep because of all the Crypto talk in domain circles recently ??? lol

He’s actually off to “Paw-Register” ExplodingSquirrels.com as I write this! 😉
I wear a molded retainer every night to keep my teeth straight (look at old people’s bottom teeth, they look like a train wreck) . It took a while to get used to it and eventually its gotten to the point I have trouble going to sleep without it because I am so used to it. But its much smaller than a mouthpiece. Its more like invisiline
Ike, I’d be interested to hear how you do with this. My guess is you are going to take advantage of the 90 day money back guarantee 🙂
They’ve done a really poor job on their website of “demonstrating” how their appliance works. I’m a potential customer as I currently wear a different plastic gizmo that pulls the tongue forward. It works great both for snoring and apnea but keeping it in the mouth all night is a huge challenge.
I hope this thing works for you and if it does let me know, bro!
My mom has sleep apnea and uses what jokingly refer to as her Darth Vader device when she goes to sleep. Apparently it’s actually it can be a rather serious condition (severity can very drastically from person to person).
.
At one point she actually spent a night in a lab to verify and measure her own level. Before seeing a doctor it wasn’t something she even thought was a possibility .. it’s something you might want to check into a little more.
