Today I went to the Elizabethtown College pond with my daughter to fish for a few hours. We had one line in the water for 5 seconds when a runner stopped to tell us that they no longer allowed fishing. I didn’t see any signs the way we came in, but we gathered our stuff together and left. There were about 10 people that I could see walking their dogs around the pond, so the whole campus isn’t closed, just the freakin pond.
If I get sick from a bass it’s just meant to be. There are no students on campus so I’m not sure why the hell they thought closing a body of water to fishing was a proactive approach to stopping the spread of a virus. There is very little to do, even outside in the fresh air, when you start shutting down waterways.
Fine, shut it down if you think it helps, but ban the dogs, dog walkers and the joggers. Those bastards are spreading their diseases all over the campus, 🙂 I’m just sitting on the pond bank. I’ll even wear a mask if you want me to.
