I went skiing the other day with brand new boots that actually fit me, it was like Christmas. The reason they fit so well is because I went to a professional that has experience sizing boots.
I tried to take the easy way out and buy discounted boots online. I’ve learned my lesson, I hope, that thinking I can save money can cost me more in the long run.
I also learned that I can’t figure everything out all the time. It’s fun to try and fix problems and sometimes it’ll work, but other times the best solution is to find someone that knows what they’re doing and has experience doing it.
I don’t know how they even make money, this dude’s main job is to fit ski boots. It’s not like I live in Colorado and central PA isn’t exactly a hot ski destination. There’s only a few hills that they call ski resorts, but somehow I was able to find a person that is an expert or close enough, at fitting people into boots.
Imagine if I applied this principle to other areas of my life? I’d save so much time and energy. Find someone that knows what they’re doing and have them do it, or do exactly what they do if I can. Then I’d have more time to focus on what I do well or even develop new skills to be good at.
