Merry Christmas to all that celebrate the holiday and Happy Friday to everyone else. I wish the same joy and love on everyone regardless. Judging by the airports it looks like 2/3 of the people that normally travel don’t give a shit about spread and are off to see Grandma. That being said here in Central Illinois our cases have dropped to almost nothing (comparatively). All our hospital staff have now received their first round of vaccinations. And testing is available to anyone and everyone with less that 24 notification of results. If signed up in advance online can be had in 15 minutes to an hour. So this Christmas in my town also represents the start to normality. Who would have thought normality would be a gift?
If I could give one reminder today its to show your gratitude over the next week. Your gratitude to those that have been by your side during your journey. Gratitude to people that made you laugh, entertained you. Gratitude to those that inspired you, drove you to accomplish. Gratitude to those that raised you and loved you unconditionally. Gratitude to your spouse that took a chance on you and let you grow into the person you are with their guidance and patience. Gratitude to siblings for putting up with your immature mind and having to be the punching bag as you practiced your name calling and martial arts on them. And to all those that didn’t do any of that or even stood in your way, show them Grace. The grace that God would want you to show. They may have not had all of the things and support you did. Remember the hurt likes to hurt and grace may provide them the support they’ve never had. Love they need more than ever during the holidays.
