Domain Spotlight:

Below is another look at a few developed sites on the new gTLDs. Screenshots or logos are linked to the sites if you’d like to check them out for yourself.

Woodstock.guitars

It’s great to see small businesses continue to get online, regardless of what domain extension they utilize.

“Woodstock Guitar Shop is a family owned business located in Woodstock, Georgia. We conduct all of our work up to a standard, not down to a price.”

“We love classic and vintage guitars. It is a lifelong pursuit of ours to work on quality instruments and ensure their continued playability and maintain their sound quality throughout the instrument’s useful life.”

The company seems to have caught the new G bug, as they also own the following domains, but none of them have a developed site like their .guitars domain:

GuitarRepair.expert

StringInstrument.repair

WoodstockGuitarShop.company

WoodstockGuitar.rocks

woodstock.guitars

Think.global

This B2B marketplace believes in the extension, as they’ve ditched the .com for a domain that spans the dot: from ThinkGlobal.com to Think.global.

From a domain registered in 1997 to a domain registered in 2015. They also control ThinkGlobal.net / .org / .info / .us.

ThinkGlobal Incorporated is the world’s first B2B platform that integrates live and on-demand video, virtual trade shows, social media, real-time matching, translation/localization, and third party verification for establishing trust.”

ThinkGlobal is a tool designed to help companies from all over the globe communicate and eventually engage in commerce with one another.”

They’re connecting companies and facilitating deals across the globe; clearly a great use of a .global domain.

Lingo.click

Another example of a company that is switching from a .com to a domain that spans the dot. In this case, from LingoClick.com, to Lingo.click.

Their service allows you to translate words on your screen, without having to toggle back and forth to a separate translation site,

“LingoClick allows you to quickly and easily translate words while you browse, read e-mails, or work with other kinds of text. Whenever you encounter a word that needs to be translated, just click on it, and let LingoClick take it from there!”

They offer a 30 day free trial, after which you can buy a year subscription for $39 USD.

The site is getting some traffic too, as evidenced by their Alexa rank near 6.5 million.
