The screenshots below are examples of buyers of domains from the past year that have either developed their sites, or purchased an upgrade domain and have redirected their acquisition to an existing website.
Fly.info sold for $10,500 at Sedo, and the owner is an individual in Maryland, according to Whois records, and they’ve got a travel site in the works. Their current description doesn’t exactly tie to their domain name, “fly.info provides information on global highways including road traffic, major cities, petrol stations, food, lodging and other services along highways.”
On a side note, Fly.com was sold recently for $2.89 million, putting the value of the .info at approximately 0.4% of the .com.
LisaPage.com sold for $5,500 at Sedo, and the domain was an upgrade from LisaPage.com.au. Although not comprehensive….to give you a sense of the popularity of the name, according to HowManyOfMe.com, there are 341 people named Lisa Page in the US. There are 298 people named Lisa Page on LinkedIn. The Lisa behind this domain is “an international speaker, author, poet and mentor who has been passionately exploring the deeper truths of life, Love and intimacy for more than twenty years.”
Taunus.com sold for $5,000 at Sedo, and the domain was an upgrade from domains such as Taunus.biz and Taunus-transformatoren.de, the latter of which is still live. The company makes transformers and is based in Germany.
CCollegejobs.com sold for $4,350 at NameJet, and a job site is in the works. I assumed the domain was a typo, but they’re using the double ‘C’ to brand around community college jobs. “CCollegeJobs.com provides a great platform to connect community college employers and job seekers to find the good match.”
SelfieGuys.com sold for $2,500 at Sedo, and the site that’s under development is NSFW. They’re looking for guys to submit “videos from their own sex adventures.”
DMaker.com sold for $2,120 at Sedo, and a Spanish language eCommerce site is live. The company is based in Argentina and describes itself as “a company dedicated to the sale of technological products, computer products, consumer electronics and home line, mainly through the e-commerce channel“.
