Help me understand this: Isn’t owning this name considered cyber squatting? I bought a big name marketers .com name and got a nasty C & D letter from his attorney… and I even personally knew the guy.

Everyone has different opinion on celebrity names. I prefer not to own their names unless I feel I could put up a good fansite that would support their career but that’s never happened. I also would give the name back if asked. The only name I own like that is Bear Bryant dot net. Haven’t put up a site but he was always my hero as a boy.
Thanks Shane! I have a few very common first/last name domains (think: John Smith.com) that are in professional fields – lawyers, real estate, mortgage – that I am going to approach that would be good fits for their biz.
