Remember when I said yesterday was a good day. Looks like we are even. I have my nephew staying with me (and working at the nursery to earn some money) for Spring Break and since I work late he went home. I get a text “Where do you keep your plunger?”. After various thoughts of Along Came Polly running through my head I tell him and 15 minutes later he texts “thanks” He leaves to go play a gig (he is a musician) and two hours later I come home. I hear what appears to be a sump pump continuously running in the newly finished basement (for him to stay with us when he is in town) and noticed the toilet is still clogged. I soon realize that the grinder and pump in utility closet is not working therefore not pumping out the waste from the catch basin. I called my friend double checking to see if what I thought was wrong was true. Yep, pump clogged with something and there’s only one way to clean. Yes, I could have called a plumber to come clean it but he’s going to do the same thing I was going to have to do. Go in, go down, and see what’s clogging it. I’ve already gone into too much detail but I don’t have to tell you that I am now qualified to go on Dirtiest job or some crazy game show. Turned out not to be as bad as I thought and there was only about 5 pounds of hair. My daughter has long long hair and my nephew has dread locks so I’m guessing the two of them combined to knock out the pump. But I fixed it, cleaned up thoroughly, and took a 45 minute shower with Clorox. Saved some money, got a good story to tell, and feel like I’ve added to my manhood chart. But I’m not looking to add again any time soon. Here are today’s names.
