They say you have to get better the same way you got sick. I took 4 weeks off from running. Some because I wanted to, and some because I had some stitches that couldn’t sweat. Evidently sweat on stiches causes scarring and they are in a somewhat visible spot so no running. But one month of no running means I have several months of running to get back to where I was. As I get older it gets harder and harder to do. It’s still possible but it’s legit work. My body is naturally a big boy’s body. My family are big men with big bones and I could easily carry 225 around. People at ICA in Vegas said I looked good and I was carrying 190. I like to run at 168/170. Most say I look too skinny then but that’s not my everyday weight. That’s my racing weight and I only hold that for 2 months every other year. It’s not possible to stay that thin all the time. But it’s necessary to be in top form. While I’m no Olympian you can see during the Olympics the athletes are absolutely cut. Abs showing, perfect form. The human body can not stay like that long. It’s not healthy. The peak of a mountain is small and that is also what peak form looks like. A tiny little section of the mountain. The rest of the time you look like the base. My body looks and feels like the base right now. Big, wide and slow.
That won’t last long though. My mileage ramps up. My calories are restricted to only the foods that fuel and nourish. Sweets are a treat in the form of Lemonheads. No dessert. Very few snacks. No second helpings. Discipline. You may say why live like that? My answer is because its necessary to do the things I love. Especially at 50 plus. If you want to run with the young dogs you have to put in a little extra work. If you want to do 100 mile races, run the mountains of Colorado and the Swiss Alps, you better bring fitness and strength. You also know that you are going to deteriorate at a few percentages a year. I want my deterioration to start from a high level. You start obese and out of shape, deterioration is probably decomposition. In the dirt. So diet , running, weightlifting, and good eating is what it is for the next 6 months. And you know what? I can’t wait

Have a name at auction and need more exposure? Send me an email. We Charge $10 per name per day. We may be able to help. If you have an auction you want to promote, email us for details. All names were chosen by us, Shane, Travis, and/or Josh . Everything we say is based on our research or is opinion. Do your due diligence. That means look it up yourself if you don’t think the stats or our opinion is correct. We hand choose the names but we are paid to make this list by both the auction houses, registrars, and individuals that are auctioning names. Keep that in mind and only buy names that YOU think are good.
