I’ve officially proven that people hate bidding on auctions with a reserve and private names. I put some up for auction and none of them sold for my reserve. Names that would have gone for 10X what they did if they were an expired auction. But crickets because people think they are no longer pure. The thought is they aren’t new stock. That they’ve been around the block and I’m only selling them because nobody has shown interest. The reality is I needed some cash. I know that buyers can come any time and they don’t care the source. But domain investors do.
Next up trying some names with no reserve. Those names won’t show up on Expired Domains normal list but if they get enough bids to make it to the most bids section they’ll get found. Plus I know a place to help promote auctions.
Speaking of which, if you’d like to promote auctions we charge $10 per listing or 3 for $25. We don’t Tik Tok type numbers but we have some of of the biggest spenders in domain investing reading here every day. So you’ll get the attention you never would have gotten in the sea of domain at auction each day. Email me at domain shane in the gmail if interested.
Domain of the Day: BirdGuide.com Big name. Going to take a build out to get the income out of it. Also not sure bird groups pay a ton of money

Have a name at auction and need more exposure? Send me an email. We Charge $10 per name per day. We may be able to help. If you have an auction you want to promote, email us for details.*All names chosen by us, Shane and Josh . (ie you click through and purchase a name you like) or an occasional paid listing. Everything we say is based on our own research or is opinion. Do your own due diligence. That means look it up yourself if you don’t think the stats or our opinion is correct. We hand choose the names but we are paid to make this list by both the auction houses, individuals that are auctioning names, and Godaddy affiliate links. Keep that in mind and only buy names that YOU think are good.
For a fee GoDaddy should let sellers mark their names as expired. I would sell most of my names within a few days.
This is why namejet no reserve works well, many times people think its a pre release / expired when its just someone selling it.
Better yet, just share some significant percentage of the expired auction proceeds with the expired domain owner if they are part of the discount domain club or are a premier customer. This leaves the higher quality names with full expired auction profits still going to GoDaddy, because most of those are dropped by business owners and other non-domain professionals. It also massively incentivizes people to move their names to GoDaddy even if just to let their names drop through the system. It is something that Josh has brought up before, and I believe GoDaddy has said they tried before but cancelled the beta for whatever reason.
Shane, got your Champaign Wildflower honey today. It was delicious, and the packaging was super!
So glad you liked it. It’s my favorite of all the kinds we sell. I’m glad you notice that I felt the packaging was important. Obviously the product quality is most important but I fall into the Apple camp that it needs to be delivered in quality packaging
