I’ve started my venture into increasing my portfolio size. Now that I am fully into domain investing as a business I need to increase my storefront of assets. If you are going to sell for a living you have to have product. Domains are my product. Of course, you have to have product that sells and you have to have more revenue than what you are putting out. Thus the game. It would have been much easier had I started the “lower quality” portfolio a decade ago but I feel that it’s still possible to build a profitable portfolio in today’s market. There are more zeros on the acquisition and the margins are less, but think the profit dollars can still be pretty good. The goal is to add 600-1000 names to my portfolio in 2024. Not just buy to buy but picking out closeouts, auctions, and buying portfolios that I think have the ability to sell. Easier said than done I know. My plan is to have the average acquisition price of $300 so it tells you the cash I need to have for 1000 domains. That won’t come without some sales. Either the total lowers or the acquisition cost has to go down. I don’t have $300K sitting around.
I’m watching my friends in the business continue to buy domains in the present market and sell them. Especially at the high end. It is not unusual for someone to pay $50K or more for CVCV in hopes that they flip them. They say the money is in the buy but there is also money in the find. Just finding quality names is hard, getting them at a good price is even harder. But that’s how you make money. One thing I see is the addiction. Every penny they make goes right back into inventory. Even the wealthiest spend it as fast as they make it. It’s hard not to buy great domains and when you are successful you get a chance at more great domains than the average person. Always domain rich and cash poor. Thus the life of a professional domain investor. I love this business. Who else gets to sit at home and buy and sell the gateway to a business? We are selling doorways to revenue.

Have a name at auction and need more exposure? Send me an email. We Charge $10 per name per day. We may be able to help. If you have an auction you want to promote, email us for details. All names were chosen by us, Shane, Travis, and/or Josh . Everything we say is based on our research or is opinion. Do your due diligence. That means look it up yourself if you don’t think the stats or our opinion is correct. We hand choose the names but we are paid to make this list by both the auction houses, registrars, and individuals that are auctioning names. Keep that in mind and only buy names that YOU think are good.
