Money Management. Its one of the most important parts of investing, business, and life. You hear constantly about having multiple sources of income, mailbox money, diversifying your portfolio, etc. Year hear it all the time because its true. There are a lot of people that make a great living at domains. Its what they do and all they do. They know it better than anyone in the world. The issue is that while domains are most likely not going anywhere, its still a good safeguard to take some of your profits and put them into other investments. Your age also is a factor in where you should be putting your money. If you need liquidity, then domains are 100% not for you. Liquidity means selling it at 10% of retail value if you’re lucky. So that means when you sell, pay your taxes and buy another name you hope for some profit to put in a place that is more liquid. Rinse repeat until you have a nice bucket of liquid savings. I’m older so I have been investing in things all over the place. Many non conventional but I understand them well and have one quite nice for me. I have
Land that I cash rent out
Land that I use for our own business
Nursery Business of which I get a draw and profits for life (as long as we have them)
Bonds: Short term Treasury
Stocks
Domains
NFTs
Crypto
Honey Company
A few websites including this one that provide Monthly Income
All these lead to quite a few sources of income on about 10 hours or less of work now. But I’ve been building that for 30 years a little at a time. It just happened to snowball lately with NFTs and crypto having a few good years. I took that money and put it into cash which I just deployed this winter. The diversity keeps me paying attention to a lot of different industries which is great and I’m always looking for another asset class to get in to and expand my diversity. Diversity served me well because when something is down there has been something that is up to make up for it. I felt that I had gotten to a point that I didn’t have to do the daily work and still could have a nice life because of the above. So far so good. Turned out that if I wasn’t helping customers pick out a new shrub that I had a little more time to work on other things that have provided even more income. And the nursery is fine without me. A large staff can take care of the operations and I can do strategic from home down the street. A lifelong goal of many and super happy to have gotten there. Just hope I can stay here

Have a name at auction and need more exposure? Send me an email. We Charge $10 per name per day. We may be able to help. If you have an auction you want to promote, email us for details.*All names chosen by us, Shane and Josh . (ie you click through and purchase a name you like) or an occasional paid listing. Everything we say is based on our own research or is opinion. Do your own due diligence. That means look it up yourself if you don’t think the stats or our opinion is correct. We hand choose the names but we are paid to make this list by both the auction houses, individuals that are auctioning names, and Godaddy affiliate links. Keep that in mind and only buy names that YOU think are good.
