It’s been interesting watching the feedback from Godaddy moving up DAN prices from 9 to 15%. And tiering all Afternic to 15%. All with the kicker that if the nameservers aren’t a Godaddy company its 25%. A beatiful case of strongarming and a show of confidence in their business. Honestly, if it were my company I would do the same thing. As a consumer I feel like I’ve been taken advantage of. Knowing that I have no choice. If I want the best chance to sell my domain I need to be in that large registration path. Godaddy bought DAN for a reason and now they are going to get it paid for. I will say this for the 1000th time. I love the employees of Godaddy. Some of the best in the business. Always answer my questions and help me. But I do get special treatment because of my voice and participation in the community. I still have to pay 15% to drive my own traffic to a parking page. The only way 15% is worth it is if it was purchased during the action of someone typing in a name and mine popped up and they picked mine. Still not sure its worth that much but at this point they get to charge whatever they want. That will change.
On another note. People still think NFTS are a ponzi but I must be in the right place in the ponzi because I have been selling Bored Ape Dogs all week and making $10K per. Its like selling a 5 figure domain but someone gave you the domain. I also bought a bunch of assets over the summer while everyone was saying things were dead. I knew most were dead but others were not. So far I picked up the right pieces.
Digital assets all carry some sort of risk. The more risky assets should pay much better than the stable assets. The key is getting the return to risk and so far I’ve done pretty well with it

I have never owned a single NFT, but it’s clear that they aren’t going anywhere.
And all the naysayers on Crypto being dead…are dead wrong.
Very painful downdraft – but that’s happened, like, 5 times in the past 6 or 7 years.
Moreover, Ethereum is now a completely unstoppable blockchain platform, upon which a huge portion of ecommerce will be conducted in the next 3 years.
EY has bet their company’s entire reputation on Ethereum via their Paul Brody – and they’re not making that bet blindly.
Bottom line is that digital assets are just getting started.
