One of the things I’ve actually started paying attention to again is parking yield. Yield farming in crypto got me back into finding things that produce income. Crypto has some underlying value but most of the domains that produce parking are actually old sites or typos so there isn’t a ton of underlying value in most cases. You’re buying multiple. What got me back into it is Catched.com‘s deal with Bodis to show the parking revenue of the domains expiring. You can then calculate the multiples and play the “will I get enough income to pay for the purchase before it fades away” game. I know there are a lot of people that specialize in this type of things and I have zero expertise in it. I think Catched.com has a great thing going though and will lead to more sale on their part with that info.
On another note. Pep Dekkar is now handling the BigIsland.org buildout and at my request has hired local writers from the Island. One of the things I don’t like is when I go to a site and its written for SEO and not for real use. I want a site that is helpful. With great pictures and articles that truly give you benefit when you visit. I’m not really interested short term in income. That will come with time. What’s been super helpful is the site was the tourism site for the BigIsland before we took it over and Sean Markey from DSAD built a site to capture the old traffic and did a great job. My goal is to build out the site to the point I can live off the income on the island or sell it and buy a home there. Either way I want to build something special. Of course I’ll keep you informed on the trials and tribulations of the build
