I haven’t been going to my favorite restaurant Chipotle because the quality of people have gotten so back at all our local restaurants I can’t comfortably eat there. The places are disgusting with food everywhere. The staff looks sloppy and disheveled. I have been a stock owner since IPO at 50 and it kills me to see it. But it’s a problem everywhere. Several of the restaurants have greatly reduced hours due to lack of staff. But I thought I would give it a try Sunday after months of not going there.
Nope. The line was to the door. Which was good. But the line where they were making it was bad. Clothes covered in food. Servers looked tired and looked like they wanted to leave. So I turned around and left and decided to go to a place I’ve never been. 5 Guys Burgers. I don’t eat red meat. Doesn’t mean I don’t like it. Just means it normally doesn’t sit with me and I always choose other options. But I had a good long run and a small breakfast so why not. Place was busy but they were on it. When I got to the counter I saw the price. $10.89. Not bad for a meal. Except that was just for the burger. If I wanted fries or a drink or a cheeseburger it was going to be more. The total ended being $21. Crazy. That a “fast food” meal was now $21 for one person.
You can tell I haven’t been out to dinner in a while. I had no idea meals had gotten so expensive. I was feeling bad by raising prices at the nursery to cover big wage increases. Now I know why they needed the raises
