I was reminded yesterday that you are as only protected as your weakest link. My Mom had her basement flood yesterday. The worst thought for a basement that has just been refinished. Yes there was a backup. There was also a battery backup. The issue is the float got caught and stuck down. So it never triggered the pump. The backup didn’t work as well. It’s a smaller pump that is above the main pump is one of those corded floats and it didn’t trigger when it was up either. A battery backup doesn’t matter. Power didn’t come into play. Once I hit the main pump’s float it worked fine but that doesn’t help much once the damage is done. It’s like the old saying. It’s not that it happened, it’s that I can’t trust you again.
Security works the same way. You are only as secure as your weakest link. Life and business is so active and so many things to track, we often forget to check on the things that protect us. This is your reminder
