Thank you everyone who emailed me about ideas for fixing Namejet. The overwhelming issue seems to be the search and the lack of seeing how many bidders. Communal action drives purchasing and putting up the number of bids can drive that communal action if they see there are other bidders. There is nothing but positive can happen when number of bids are easily found.
I am working with an AI team on several things and they are some of the best in the world. Placing top 3 in many of the hackathons and I can see what can be done. AI should and will be involved in every company in the world eventually but you have to start with a great UI and human psychology first. AI can answer and help them get the most out of the site but the site has to have the functionality. A site has to be ready for AI.
To be open. I am helping Namejet because they pay me to help but I am doing it because they bring a lot of great expiring names to market. They also could add more private sales. We’re all sick of seeing the same 100 names over and over and over again. It’s a bad user experience and even more reason a good search is necessary to parse those out. I think Namejet and Snapnames are great assets but they probably don’t need to both exist. One endpoint is all the users want. They don’t care about the source.
In short, making Namejet better is good for domain investors and we should all want them to be great

Have a name at auction and need more exposure? Send me an email. We Charge $10 per name per day. We may be able to help. If you have an auction you want to promote, email us for details.*All names chosen by us, Shane and Josh . (ie you click through and purchase a name you like) or an occasional paid listing. Everything we say is based on our own research or is opinion. Do your own due diligence. That means look it up yourself if you don’t think the stats or our opinion is correct. We hand choose the names but we are paid to make this list by both the auction houses, individuals that are auctioning names, and Godaddy affiliate links. Keep that in mind and only buy names that YOU think are good.
