I’ve been watching temperatures around the country reach 100 degrees and I saw 90 for the first time this year when I drove down to Aspen. I always thought a great life would be to be in Florida or south for the winter and high in the mountains for the summers. Giving me great weather year round. I have proven the summer thing. The record high in history for Leadville is 86 in 1954 and we haven’t been past 75 in the month I’ve been here. Twenty percent humidity and 68 and sunny most days is really nice. Although at night the average was at 32 degrees at the end of May and beginning of June and I admit I was a little cold. It’s odd making a fire every day in June.
What is great is I get to see two springs. The Illinois spring was two months ago and yesterday I walked through the amazing smells of blooming lilacs and spring flowers in Apen. Leadville will get that in a few more weeks. So actually its 3 springs. The only issue is Leadville really doesn’t want part-timers here. They hate them. They keep the short-term rentals to 7% and rentals to 2%. Aspen is triple that if not more. Locals hate that home prices have tripled since 2016 and want it to stop. Most of the area is a national forest so there isn’t a worry about building around the lakes and forests. The pictures from 1876 look the exact same today. Not one additional house. That I love. But the reality is I would like to rent out the home I buy here and they definitely don’t want that.

Have a name at auction and need more exposure? Send me an email. We Charge $10 per name per day. We may be able to help. If you have an auction you want to promote, email us for details.*All names chosen by us, Shane and Josh . (ie you click through and purchase a name you like) or an occasional paid listing. Everything we say is based on our own research or is opinion. Do your own due diligence. That means look it up yourself if you don’t think the stats or our opinion is correct. We hand choose the names but we are paid to make this list by both the auction houses, individuals that are auctioning names, and Godaddy affiliate links. Keep that in mind and only buy names that YOU think are good.
