I took my Mom to Veecon because I thought she would enjoy the speakers GaryVee had lined up. I’ve said this several times but any one of his 10 speakers would be a headliner at any other conference and he had all 10. All of them are better than a domain conference has gotten in the last 5 years. She told me it was the most enjoyable 2 days she’s had in years. Her exact words “I have hope for the next generation. They seem to understand that being a better and healthier you is the goal, not to work 70 hrs a week” She raised me that way to counteract my Dad’s, work is everything mentality. Not only did I get to hear incredible people reinforce my new lifestyle, but I got to do it with my Mom.
Some would be embarrassed to bring their Mom but this conference emphasized why I brought her. I’m beyond trying to impress. Just do what makes you happy, be great at something, and the rest will take care of itself. I brought her to Rick Schwartz’s conference in Vegas back in the day so she’s seen Garden Shane, Domain Shane, and now Sugar Shane. I am humbled that in each section of my journey the people I have introduced her to have said such nice things about me. At VeeCon she said,” I can’t you have succeeded in all 3 of these worlds. Most people never get to do this in one ” She’s right. I’ve made great friends in 3 different careers. And I’m not done yet.
