I’m a huge fan of Seth Godin. If there is any one author who has guided me in my actions and decision making process its Goin. His new book This is Strategy is another goldmine of ideas. Certainly worth reading. Here are a few of the ideas I love
“Strategy is a compass, not a map.” The idea that strategy helps in setting a direction rather than offering a step-by-step plan. It encourages adaptability rather than fixating on specific tactics.
“Without empathy, strategy is empty.” Godin argues that understanding others’ needs and emotions is essential for any meaningful strategy, both in business and personal pursuits.
“Constraints are opportunities in disguise.” He urges readers to see limitations as catalysts for innovation, flipping the common narrative that constraints hinder progress.
“The smallest viable audience can unlock the biggest opportunities.” Focusing on a niche group and delivering exceptional value, rather than trying to please everyone.
“Iteration beats perfection every time.” Godin advocates for rapid experimentation and continuous improvement ie Stay Flexible because the game plan is most likely not going to go as planned
