Flying to Asia for conferences and meetings, I’ve always used the Swiss Lounge at O’Hare—or at least I thought I had. Today, I returned and while the sliding doors looked the same, inside was a completely different story. The once comfortable and relaxing space had turned into an overcrowded mess. Like a complimentary breakfast area at an aging Hilton. It was dirty, with just a wide-open room and nothing like it used to be.
Maybe it’s under renovation, or maybe I walked into the wrong lounge. My ticket got me in, but I also noticed that my credit card lounge pass would have worked, too. That’s likely the issue—too many people now have lounge access through their credit cards, and it’s overcrowding these spaces. It seems to be hurting their quality. Credit card lounges in the U.S. are almost all the same—trash.
The lounges are far better internationally, especially in London and elsewhere. And in Asia, the airports are so nice that you barely even need a lounge. Many tickets come with lounge access, and if you’re flying business class, the experience is amazing. The food is excellent, the spaces are spotless, and they even offer private sleeping rooms and showers. Once you’ve been through airports like Hong Kong or Singapore, it really puts into perspective how shitty U.S. infrastructure and airports are.

Quote of the Day:
“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not: nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not: the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent.”
-Calvin Coolidge

Have a name at auction and need more exposure? Send me an email. We Charge $10 per name per day. We may be able to help. If you have an auction you want to promote, email us for details. All names were chosen by us, Shane, Travis, and/or Josh . Everything we say is based on our research or is opinion. Do your due diligence. That means look it up yourself if you don’t think the stats or our opinion is correct. We hand choose the names but we are paid to make this list by both the auction houses, registrars, and individuals that are auctioning names. Keep that in mind and only buy names that YOU think are good.
