A Happy Easter to all of you that celebrate. This last few weeks is essentially where my Jewish friends and I tend to dissagree. But I hope everyone has a wonderful day regardless of beliefs.
I’m told by so many people that having Insta and Twitter handles to go with the domain gives no added value. I disagree. I also know that if they don’t want them that most one word handles have a lot of value. I get offered good sums for many of my handles. Much more than I paid for them. I have also sold some as businesses that include the handle for $20K plus. I feel that if I was starting a new business and I had the chance to get the domain and all the social media handles I would be ecstatic. I know how hard and how important it is to have an exact match package. Most companies don’t until they start the campaigns and realize the exact match is the one that gets the mentions and the tags. No different than dot coms vs alt extensions. When they mention you on Twitter they @ the wrong account because it’s not owned by the dot com holder. It’s a big deal whether they know it or not. And at this point people still don’t give it enough value. I think that will change. So I will continue adding the matches for all major dot coms.

Domain of the Day:TreeCity.com Yeah, I know I’m supposed to buy it. But the price is sol high

Have a name at auction and need more exposure? Send me an email. We Charge $10 per name per day. We may be able to help. If you have an auction you want to promote, email us for details.*All names chosen by us, Shane and Josh . (ie you click through and purchase a name you like) or an occasional paid listing. Everything we say is based on our own research or is opinion. Do your own due diligence. That means look it up yourself if you don’t think the stats or our opinion is correct. We hand choose the names but we are paid to make this list by both the auction houses, individuals that are auctioning names, and Godaddy affiliate links. Keep that in mind and only buy names that YOU think are good.
I agree with you about the social handles Shane.
I just sold an online business for low 6 figures last week, and the new owner wanted the Twitter handle badly. We ran into some issues moving it over to him, and it almost became a big issue because he wanted them so badly. They may not matter to everyone, but to some people they matter a lot.
Thanks for sharing Tom. If you know you know. If you don’t then you’ve never run an advertising campaign
