I’ve said it 12 straight years. I hate April 1st more than any other day. A day where it’s become so cliche to write some stupid ass article yet everyone knows its not real. All the while ruining the ability to write anything because everyone thinks its going to be an April Fools joke. Total waste of a day.
A follow up to yesterday’s post about having one name sold at Afternic canceled. Today they said it was an error and they secured payment and transferred the name and are going to pay out. I feel like my girlfriend is playing games with me. Breaking up, saying just kidding. I don’t mind being jerked around if the end result is $9k in my pocket. I can take a few let downs for that amount of money.
And finally. Does anyone know anything about TheHustle.co? Is it just a tech newsletter that sells ads because it has a lot of subscribers?
We have a new listing advertiser. He has some good names of for auction. Before we get to the main list take a look at his auctions
Quote of the Day:
Domain of the Day: Swaggle.com This is a great example of how much really really good one word domains now go for. This might even get to five figures.
Remember to click the links to see the current prices and if you are going to pay for a name do it while visiting DSAD.com. It pays for the gas to run the ship.

Have a name at auction and need more exposure? Send me an email. We Charge $10 per name per day. We may be able to help. If you have an auction you want to promote, email us for details.*All names chosen by us, Shane and Josh . (ie you click through and purchase a name you like) or an occasional paid listing. Everything we say is based on our own research or is opinion. Do your own due diligence. That means look it up yourself if you don’t think the stats or our opinion is correct. We hand choose the names but we are paid to make this list by both the auction houses, individuals that are auctioning names, and Godaddy affiliate links. Keep that in mind and only buy names that YOU think are good.
Glad to hear the sale went through after all 🙌. Regarding TheHustle, they just sold to HubSpot for ~$27M. I’ve been following for couple years.. the newsletter itself is alright but the real gold is the podcast. It’s called “my first million”, and despite the douchey name they actually talk about a business and emerging technology etc.. The two hosts are very likable, so it’s an easy listen. They also have some really great guests on. Reminds me of Domain Sherpa, but for business. The one funny thing is I actually found out about NFTs and Bitclout from you on dsad before I heard about them on their show. They have been talking a lot about both the last couple episodes.
I’ve been receiving The Hustle newsletter for about a year and enjoy it. The podcast My First Million is great. I have gotten the vibe that they are not the biggest fans of domain investing and the founder Sam has mentioned going back and forth on Twitter with some domain folk. I have often thought it would be awesome to hear you, Drew or even Cyger on the podcast for an honest conversation. As they are startup focused I think the issue is they see Domain Investors as inflating a critical expense to the success of a startup however that is purely my assumption.
Yea they are definitely slowly warming up to domains and domain investing. The latest episode had a section where they fawned over Dictionary(.)com and some other high traffic domains.
