I haven’t been tweeting very much and probably a little bit more personal than normal in my writing. The reason is my brother’s daughter was born with a bad heart and had her 4th open heart surgery Monday. She’s two. It’s a very personal, difficult situation that is brutal on the family. Her recovery is going to be long and difficult. And nothing is a given when it comes to the heart. It’s dangerous and unforgiving. It’s pain and suffering for many. From Lily, to her parents, to their families, to the people that support these people as they are forced to change their daily lives. I only share because no matter what you are going through I can promise that there are others that are suffering more. Your problem is probably miniscule in the scope of things. I’m not looking for any comments. I know all of you will give your prayers and thoughts to Lily. That’s the kind of people that read this list each day. What I want you to do is hug your kids, hug your spouse, call your loved ones. Cherish they are there.

Thank you Robbie and Emeka. Robbie, thanks for the nice thought but this isn’t a financial struggle. It does cost millions and millions of dollars but it’s covered. I only mention all this as a reminder to not take anyone for granted. I think its nice to be reminded and here it is
Praying for Lily ,her parents and the whole family during this period .Shane,its an emotional time and I actually know couple of people with same who shared their story. I know a girl that is now a registered nurse who also had an open heart surgery .She is as strong as ever and I pray for strength for Lily at this stage of her life.
God be with her always as she recovers through this period.
Shane, my granddaughter, was born with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome, and after three major surgeries by the age of two, she is now doing great. They thought she would never walk, and today at eleven, she’s running all over the place. These heart surgeons can do amazing things nowadays. It won’t surprise me if she makes a full recovery and soon running all over the place too. God Bless you and your family.
