I’m not sure whether I am excited or pissed off. I bought a pack of NBA Top Shots because Adam Strong said they were the hottest things going and only getting more popular. That people were making tens and hundreds of thousands of dollars. So I bought a pack and thought “This is ridiculours” Fast forward 3 weeks and Adam texts me “Your cards are worth $2K”. They were worth $6 when I left them.
Yup. Because they were in the first ever series they had gone crazy. My Karl Anthony Townes card alone was worth $800. And I sold it. I still have 5 other cards worth $300-500 each. I put higher prices on them and I’ll see what happened. But here’s the kicker. You can’t take your money out easily. People will buy them from your and give you 80% on the dollar instantly but to get it from Top Shot you’ll have to wait a month. Its ridiculous. So I used the money to buy Curry cards and kept $400 in. So when I can take it out I can buy myself something pretty.
So why am I upset? Because I’ve more on these stupid-ass basketball cards and NFTs than I have done all the work on the honey. I’ve put in 100s of hours building the business and still make more with two clicks. This generation is going to be a bunch of lazy fucks if this continues.
