Yesterday was one of those days. I don’t get it very often. Every couple years. When you just look up and think that you need to do something different. It’s not that I don’t like what I am doing. Its just I’ve done it for 26 straight years. My day is pretty much jam packed every….single…..day. And this time of year its the same thing every day. run, nursery, bombarded by tree questions from 5 am to 9pm, hot draining weather, come home, hear wife’s hard day, eat, write the list. I need a vacation. And when I’m on that vacation the wife is going to have to not work as well. She’s been working so hard she seems to be in same boat.
Her company bought a company in California and with all the crazy California laws, her job has basically doubled. Which means that when I come home from all my employee and customer issues I get to hear more. I love her and thankful she works but I’m beginning not like California just from hearing all the issues there. For me I love my profession of growing plants. Its retail that gets me. Its brutal. The general population tends to be older, have more anxiety, easy access to non in person discussions, and worse health. All which means its much more difficult to handle retail issues. And remember I sell living/perishable items that require proper care or it dies. You know nobody is going to want to take responsibility for it dying. It got to the point yesterday where I was thinking how I can escape to Hawaii for a few weeks and turn off my phone.
I know everyone gets to this point. I’m there. Here I come Hawaii.

Have a name at auction and need more exposure? Send me an email. We Charge $10 per name per day. We may be able to help. If you have an auction you want to promote, email us for details.*All names chosen by us, Shane and Josh . (ie you click through and purchase a name you like) or an occasional paid listing. Everything we say is based on our own research or is opinion. Do your own due diligence. That means look it up yourself if you don’t think the stats or our opinion is correct. We hand choose the names but we are paid to make this list by both the auction houses, individuals that are auctioning names, and Godaddy affiliate links. Keep that in mind and only buy names that YOU think are good.
Your blog is one of the few I read on a regular basis, via domaining.com. I like your stories, I like your quotes (such as the one today and the one from a weeks weeks ago about how success is like being pregnant). And I like reading the list of domains. But if it were just a plain list of domains for auction each day, I don’t think I would bother to click.
So, I just wanted you to know that I appreciate your hard work each day.
Eric,
Thank you so much. And I’m not just saying this because you had nice things to say. When I feel like skipping a list I think of people like you and Sean Markey. Like you two are sitting right there and I’m telling a story or talking things out. That if I don’t write you two will wonder if I’m Ok. So thanks for your inspiration that you don’t even know you are giving 😀
I’ll just copy what Eric said. I also look forward to reading your blog along with your list of names, so thank you for the work you’re doing. Your personal life notes make your blog stand out from all the other domaining type blogs that pop up on domaining.com.
Yes Shane, I can understand the busy-ness that we have to get through. Yesterday must have been one of those days 😉 I echo Eric’s words as well and really appreciate your daily list and your frank, experienced opinions for each of them.
Thank you Warren and Tom. Yes, it was one of those days. I don’t suffer from depression but there is no doubt I hit a hole that lasted about half a day. It was deep and dark and gave me an appreciation for those that live with it. I am so thankful I have running and great support around me to bring sunshine to each new day
