Did you know SEO has been around for 70 plus years? Except it wasn’t called SEO it was called YPO, or Yellow Page Optimization. When people think of AAA, Triple A they think of car insurance and roadside assistance. Younger people don’t know that most businesses were called AAA because it got them to the top of the phone book. Until the 90s, the phone book was the most important marketing you did if you owned a business. Everyone found services and items through the phone book. Even our nursery which was pretty small at the time spent $10,000 a month on the phone book yellow pages. By using 123 or AAA it got you listed as the first in the category. Like Google now, people tended not to dig too deep. The only way to get their attention other than be first was to do a nice big ad. A great-looking ad paid for itself several times over.
So if you see a company named AAA Locksmith or 123 Locksmith, most likely it was formed during the yellow page days and the name was 100% based on better ranking.
